| One day last week Joey fell asleep right after school. Love, love, love. |
Our bed wobbles and shakes and every single time Kevin rolls over the shaking wakes me up. So right now he's got the little tool and is tightening the nuts and bolts that holds the bed together because he says that ME rolling over shakes the bed and wakes him up. Well, the bed shaking doesn't bother me when I roll over so that doesn't bother me but I'm glad he's fixing it so maybe the two of us can get some sleep.

This week was my last week with girl baby. It's also the week that I was talking with a radiology friend of mine who suggested that just maybe girl baby (based on my description) might have something called hypermobility. One of the first things I noticed about girl baby was that she was very strong. She always had her legs straight and stiff and in a V formation. She would sit up very straight (awesome posture) but would lean forward (rocking) and put her forehead between her feet. I've tried telling her mom that something is going on but she doesn't 'hear' my words.

Joey was recently tested for IEP purposes. They needed to find a new 'label' for him. Since he is almost done with kindergarten they needed to give him another label. The one he received for preschool was given when he turned 3 years old. Young Child With Developmental Delay (YCDD). The YCDD is only good for preschool through kindergarten. A school age evaluation and diagnosis needed to be done. I forget what they called Joey but he didn't fit anywhere so they went with 'orthopedic' or something like that. I don't have the results with me (there were mistakes and a final copy will be sent home soon) but I do remember his overall IQ was tested at 105 with an average of 95-115. His OT (occupational therapy/fine motor) scores were craptastic. His PT (physical therapy/gross motor) scores were not much better. His speech scores were great but his language scores were so very close to qualify him but not close enough so he'll no longer receive speech/language but his low scores for OT/PT secured a spot in the therapy room for the next three years.

I baked brownies today. Homemade brownies. They are delicious. I searched pinterest for brownies and Mr Brownie came up. Ladies, ...You. Are. Welcome. I may or may not have licked my screen in hopes of getting a nice taste of Mr Brownie. Brownies will forever be a sexy food. Every time I eat brownies, I'll think of him. By the way, the brownie recipe I eventually used came from a friend who got it off a box of cocoa powder or something. Pinterest is horrible for brownie recipes because they all call for fancy ingredients that I don't have.

We had all four seasons this week. Anyone else experience that too? We were up to the mid 70's part of the week and today it's 17F. What on earth is up with that?!

Oh that's funny about the bed shaking. I remember when sleeping was not the prime reason for our bed. I wonder if Mr. Brownie would shake the bed.
ReplyDeleteI've heard from parents with special needs kids that dealing with the IEP people can be a real pain. I hope it goes smoothly for you.
ReplyDeleteYep -- all 4 seasons here in Chicago, too.
The picture of your little boys is totally adorable. Hope the bed will be less shaky tonight. :)
ReplyDeleteI am so over the weather this week. I'm ready for spring. Not summer. I'm not ready to melt every time I walk out the door. But this cold is killing me.
ReplyDeleteI love the sleeping picture! Bless his little heart! I had one that was always being tested so I know how stressful that can be. Our weather is psycho too! It was warm the beginning of the week and is close to freezing now. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI don't know what's up with the weather! In Alaska we had mid 40's in January!!! Good night :-(
ReplyDeleteThere is just absolutely NOTHING more precious than a sleeping child, especially when that child is your own.
ReplyDeleteMR. BROWNIE.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah, and that's a cute kid ya got there :)
Wow. Mr.Brownie is HOT. Just so you know, I've written and deleted two inappropriate comments inspired by that photo.
ReplyDeleteI'd never heard of hypermobility; that's really interesting. I hope his mom (or pediatrician) catches on.
Glad to know that Joey's needs will continue to be addressed. Congrats on the progress! :)
