Gaahhhh!

Oh well, everything works out in the end, amiright?

So I babysit for two different families.  Never the same family on the same day.  Girl Baby comes two days per week and Boy Baby comes three days per week.  Well, the good news is that Boy Baby will continue coming to me, probably until the end of this school year and then come back once school starts up again.  The bad news is that Girl Baby's parents have decided to send her to daycare; in the height of cold, flu, barf season.

I've asked a couple of times if I've done something which pushed them in this direction but they said that I've been wonderful and that they think 'it will help her' if she was around other babies her age.  I'm sure they are referring to her lack of development.  I've been trying and trying to convince the parents to contact early intervention/first steps but they haven't, as far as I know.  They think being around other babies will help her develop on par with where she should be.  I wish her and them luck but I'm going to miss her and the money she brings because ya know, babysitting is kinda my job now.

Since finding a new baby to watch will take some time my 'Plan A' was to just start substitute teaching in the kids elementary school.  I figured that I could babysit one day per week and the other day I could volunteer and eventually just substitute teach two days per week.  It would be perfect except for the fact that the district has over a thousand subs in their subfinder database and are no longer accepting applications.

Plan A crashed and burned in less than 24 hours.

Now I Am Sad.

  1. Don't you have a teaching degree? How about doing some tutoring or helping homeschooling parents?

  2. I just realized my comment sounded rude - I just wanted you to know I was suggesting it because it's the kind of thing I would hire you for in a heartbeat if we had a single spare dollar right now!

  3. When I was younger, I could never babysit other people's children. I bet I could now though, but I'd hate to be tied down. I'm a gypsy. LOL!

I hope something great falls into your lap.
