Stuff People Say

You know how people often refer to the love they have for their children by saying stuff like, "It's like watching my heart walking outside of my body".  First of all, I don't get that.  When someone says that, I see a bloody heart walking on vein-y feet and getting blood footprints all over the place.  I see the veins sticking out the top of the heart and those are spraying blood all over with each pump.  Yeah, the love I have for my children isn't anything like that.

But on a similar note I did say, in regards to Isabella, "Wait a second, let me find my brain and ask her."  I can't even remember what we were talking about but I was having a conversation with someone and they asked me a question I should have known the answer to but I just couldn't remember.  Since Isabella was somewhat nearby I paused the conversation and asked 'my brain'.  Without even thinking a second about the question she answered and that was the information I was looking for and that's when I pictured my brain walking outside of my body.  So yeah, for the rest of the world their children represent their hearts walking outside of their bodies but for me? It's my brain walking outside of my body.

My brains and me  We need a bigger recliner.
