Wizard, doctor.....same thing, right? You go to them, they work their magic and *poof* you're cured. Except it just doesn't work that way because wizardry is magic and doctoring is a practice. Has anyone ever wondered why doctors 'practice'? One would think they'd be all done practicing and would be ready to heal once they graduated med school. Something that I read on Pinterest said something like, "Do you know what they call the guy who graduated dead last from med school? Doctor." I often pray that my doctors graduated in the top 10% of their class. I forget what number I graduated but I think it was something like 115? Which was technically in the top 6% of my class. I think? Which makes me wonder about the lack of intelligence of the student body the year I graduated. I'm just good at memorization and regurgitation.
So yeah, I'm off to see the doctor tomorrow about some of the problems I've been experiencing. She's going to run an EKG *yikes!* and we'll go from there. Wish me luck and say a prayer that everything is easily fixed because I'm not up for complicated bologna. Why isn't that spelled blowknee?
Then later this month I'm off to see the ENT because I'm still dizzy. I do think that my dizzy has something to do with my heart pumping fast and hard at 2am but I'm going in tomorrow to check one thing off my list of crap going on. When you yawn or swallow; spit, food, soda, water....etc. . .Do your ears pop? Just a mild crackly pop? I have one ear that pops and that particular ear feels fine but the other ear.....it hardly ever pops and it always feels like it has pressure inside it. Sometimes it feels like there is a bubble or something inside that needs out and if I pinch my nose and puff my cheeks I can *sometimes* get that ear to pop and then if I'm really lucky it will pop really good and then when I yawn or swallow spit/soda/food/whatever*NOT THAT!*, it will pop some more and then it's like the heavens open and my ear feels great for about an hour and then it's like I'm back at square one. Anyway, I'm just wondering what you guys know about stuff like that?

Also, Joey goes in for a check up on his leg later this month and I'm just not looking forward to this appointment because first off...instead of getting a 9am appointment start time they are starting us out at noon. NOON!!! So when the doctor runs 3 hours late, instead of only being 3 hours behind because we are roughly the first patient...........they will be 3 hours behind PLUS all the time it takes to go through all of the other patients. Another reason this appointment isn't something to look forward to is because Joey's brace is causing him problems so the brace shop will take forever because we can't really do anything to the brace without the doctor saying it's okay so any kids before us waiting on the doctor are now waiting on the brace ahead of us. I wonder if we should pack an overnight bag? And another reason this appointment will suck is because something is up with little man's leg.
With each step back that we take concerning Joey's leg I become more and more worried about him losing his leg. I don't even know why I'm so worried about amputation anymore. I mean if the kid will be pain free without his leg shouldn't that be the biggest goal? Why do I keep wanting to stick with it and get the leg fixed? Couldn't 'fixing' his leg also mean amputation? Just because I like to keep ahead of things I've been reading a lot on amputation. Did you know there are several types of amputations? I can't remember the names and I only know of two types but I think there are more.
There are also lots and lots of different types of prosthetic legs that you can purchase. There are swimming legs, running legs, regular legs and of the regular legs there are lots of different types too. Your basic regular leg will set you back $10K. Joey's still so young that I'd imagine we'd need a new leg at the very least every other year. I've read that it's best to have at least one swimming leg and one regular leg and awesome if you can squeeze in a running leg. WOW. That's all I can say. Also, I've read that while Shriners is free, sometimes it's better to go elsewhere for the amputation and prosthetic leg. I'm not too sure why and I'm scouring the internet and message boards to figure that one out.
